According to a report from MMAJunkie.com, Miller and Tim Kennedy have verbally agreed to a bout on the card, which will air live on Showtime.
The fight would be the third meeting between the two fighters, and the first since 2007. The two first met at an Extreme Challenge event in 2003, and Kennedy earned the first victory in the series by unanimous decision. When they met the second time on HDNet, Miller returned the favor with a unanimous decision win of his own.
Kennedy fell short against Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza when the two met in August for the vacant Strikeforce Middleweight Championship, but he boasts a 3-1 record overall in the organization.
Miller has only fought twice under the Strikeforce banner, losing a decision to Jake Shields before defeating Tim Stout at Strikeforce: Nashville in April. Of course, after fighting that night, Miller confronted Shields in the cage after Shields' main event bout against Dan Henderson and asked for a rematch, inciting a mugging by the Cesar Gracie camp in the cage. He returned to action this September in DREAM, submitting Kazushi Sakuraba in the first round.

Penick's Analysis: This is a good bout for Strikeforce's middleweight division and this card for January. Kennedy has been extremely impressive throughout his time in Strikeforce, and simply came up short in a tough fight against Souza. As for Miller, Kennedy represents a tough fight for him after consecutive victories, and although it's not the grudge match with Diaz, it's a competitive fight that could be very entertaining.
