Following Georges St. Pierre's victory over Josh Koscheck on Saturday night at UFC 124, discussion quickly turned to the possibility of a bout between GSP and reigning Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

Not so fast, says UFC President Dana White.

White confirmed after the fight on Saturday that Jake Shields is still in line for the next shot at GSP. Shields defeated Martin Kampmann in his UFC debut at UFC 121 in October, and White stated then that he had earned a title shot with a win. He has stuck by that statement, and that fight will be next on the docket for both.

The fight could come to the UFC's first event in Toronto on April 30, as St. Pierre expressed an interest in taking part in the UFC 131 card from the Rogers Centre. However, no decisions have been made on the event with it several months off.

Penick's Analysis: St. Pierre vs. Shields is going to be a highly interesting tactical bout for the Welterweight Championship. Koscheck was able to take St. Pierre down once in the fight on Saturday, and Shields is assuredly going to do whatever possible to get St. Pierre to the ground. Whether he can close the distance and get past St. Pierre's striking game, it's no guarantee he can keep him on the ground if he gets him there. If it's the headliner of the Toronto card, it will once again be huge simply because of GSP's involvement.
